Stem rot: fungal disease (Fusarium, Pythium, Phytophthora) causing basal stem decay. Symptoms: soft water-soaked dark stem, wilting. Caused by overwatering, poor drainage. Treat: prune, repot, copper fungicide. Poor prognosis if advanced.
