Ackee (Blighia sapida): West African tropical tree, Sapindaceae family. Ripe fruit opens naturally, edible yellow flesh. Unripe fruit contains hypoglycin A toxin causing poisoning. Must harvest only when fruit opens naturally. Grows in tropical climates, well-drained soil.
