American Beech Cultivar (Fagus grandifolia): Large deciduous hardwood with broad canopy, possibly purple foliage. Needs acidic, moist, well-drained soil (zones 3-9). Shallow roots, drought-sensitive, susceptible to beech bark disease. Slow-moderate growth.
