Deciduous tree 6-10m, pink-purple flowers bloom on bare wood in early spring. Famous cultivars: Forest Pansy (purple leaves), Ruby Falls (weeping), Rising Sun (orange foliage). USDA zones 4-9, full sun to partial shade. Legume family, moderate drought tolerance.
