Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla) is a prized tropical hardwood in the Meliaceae family. Dense, reddish-brown wood with beautiful grain. Pinnately compound leaves, broad canopy. Slow-growing, requires full sun and well-draining soil. Used for timber and bonsai.
