Banana

Banana (Musa spp., Musaceae) is a large tropical herb with pseudostem from leaf sheaths. Very large leaves, bunch fruit. Prefers hot humid, heavy rain, loose nutrient-rich soil. Fast growing, needs abundant water and fertilizer. Common issues: stem borers, aphids, Panama wilt disease.
