Lodgepole Pine (Pinus contorta) is a North American pine with twisted paired needles, fissured bark. Excellent cold hardiness (zones 4-8), thrives on poor soils. Pioneer species after forest fires. Bonsai requires strong light, excellent drainage, advanced care.
