Japanese Mountain Maple (Acer palmatum) is a popular deciduous bonsai species, famous for its fan-shaped leaves and vibrant autumn color. Slow-growing, needs good light, high humidity, tolerates cold well but is heat-sensitive. Intermediate difficulty, requires regular watering and well-draining soil.
