Red Horse Chestnut (Aesculus × carnea) is a deciduous hybrid with large red-pink flower clusters in spring. Broad egg-shaped canopy, palmate compound leaves. Good cold tolerance, low drought tolerance. Toxic seeds and leaves. Used as shade tree and bonsai. Bonsai pots should be deep, substrate well-draining.
