Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is a tropical rhizomatous herb with pungent rhizome. Prefers moisture, well-drained soil, 20-30°C. Propagated by rhizome division. Used as spice, treats colds and nausea. Pests: thrips, aphids, root rot.
